Jonathan was elected to the City Council in April 2023 to a four-year term. Jonathan was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois and obtained B.F.A. in Geology. Jonathan spent the first 17 years of his career in environmental engineering working for multi-national engineering and design firms. Since 2017, Jonathan has been working with Give Something Back in Lockport. He is currently the National Director of IT. Prior to serving as Alderman, Jonathan served as a Gaming Commissioner for the City of Lockport since 2019 and also served on the Citizen's Advisory Panel for the Star Maker Park. Jonathan has been involved in the school boards at St. Joseph Parish and Diocese of Joliet, where he served as President from 2019-2021. Currently Jonathan serves as the Treasurer of the Lockport Township High School Foundation.
Jonathan moved to Karen Springs in Lockport in 2002 after marrying his wife, Danielle. They have three children, two of whom are currently attending the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Their youngest attends St. Joseph School (Sts. Dennis and Joseph Catholic Academy come Fall 2023) in Lockport.
Jonathan's hobbies include soccer, golf, F1, and traveling. He enjoys spending time with family and friends in the outdoors.
