The City has been notified by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) Illinois Vehicles Emissions Testing Program that the Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White has extended vehicle registration renewals for at least 90 days. Since announcing the reopening of renewal testing operations, the IEPA Vehicle Emissions Testing Locations have been experiencing long lines and wait times due to motorists who have reported to facilities immediately upon reopening. However, based on the Illinois Secretary of State’s extension of renewals by at least 90 days, motorists do not need to come in and get their vehicles tested right away. Below is a schedule for Illinois motorists in order to reduce traffic volume at stations and wait times.
