The City of Lockport, Illinois is in the process of constructing an Iron filter for the city’s Well 14 produces . Funding for this project was provided by a low interest loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Public Water Supply Loan Program (PWSLP). The PWSLP is funded by both state and federal sources. The $2,320,580.00 loan has an interest rate of 1.64% and will be repaid over 20 years. The filter will provide customers with water that has a significantly lower Iron level than the well currently produces. For more information contact the Lockport Water Department.
